It was 1952 when Grazio Paparella, who moved from Puglia to Milan, founded the Paparella company at Verziere, the forerunner of the Ortomercato of Milan.
Since that date the world has changed, and so has the company with it. Take a trip with us, scroll down to discover the story!
In 1964 opened the current Ortomercato headquarters of Viale Lombroso. For those times it was a futuristic center and first example of that format in Europe. An opportunity that Grazio Paparella did not miss, and along with his Milanese partner Del Vecchio, he opened a small Stand in pavilion B. The negotiations and the turnover were greatly intensified. But the company received a real big boost when, in 1979, Grazio's sons, Mario and Gianni, took over the running of the company, basing it on modernity.
The heirs of this small fruit and vegetable stand perceived the changes that were underway, acquired new suppliers, expanded the range of products and satisfied the needs of a wider, demanding and international customer base.
Thanks to this continuous growth process, in 2009 it was possible to move the company into a larger stand within a even more important pavilion, the current Pavilion A.
In those years the company was equipped with all the necessary tools useful for the storage and mobilization of the volume of goods handled. Large cold rooms, forklifts, pallet trucks, therefore a complete internal logistics. The staff was also increased and the entire management system of invoices and archives was computerized. The second generation of the family has made Paparella & Co an Italian and European reference point for the agri-food field.
The contemporary has called for new challenges for the Paparella family, which has been made ready once again.
In 2018 the transformation into Paparella Company 1952 by the third generation
has opened the way for a rosy and promising future.
